Angelo Onello

Angelo Bernard Onello (85), known as “Bear”, of Manahawkin NJ, formerly of West New York NJ, and a lifelong resident of Ridgefield Park NJ, passed away peacefully on July 18 surrounded by his family.
Angelo was reunited with his “sweetheart” wife of 60 years, the late Marion Sinkinson Onello.
He will forever live on in the hearts of his loving family.  Father to Marion Romano and her husband Dennis Romano of Manahawkin NJ, Angelo Onello II and his wife Wendy of Ramsey NJ, Regina and her husband Jim of Harmony ME, and Daina Onello.
Endless memories with his grandchildren will be remembered, especially cherished memories of family trips to The Mohegan Lodge in Lake George NY.  Angelo had 5 grandchildren:  Dennis Romano and his wife Bridgit of Manahawkin NJ, Stacey Pellicano and her husband Michael of Newark DE, Angelo Onello III of Ramsey NJ, Devin Onello and his fiancé Alicia of Bloomingdale NJ, and Katherine Onello.
His tender heart was ever evident when in the presence of his four great grandchildren:  James and Bryce Romano, and Michael and Francesca Pellicano.
Angelo proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Charles H. Roan (DD-853) and the U.S.S. Rich (DD-820).  He also toured the world as a Merchant Marine.
He started his career in the embroidery industry, and retired as the northeast division automotive parts manager at Motor Age Inc.
Angelo will always be remembered by his family and friends for his kindness, caring personality, patience, and one-liner jokes.  His family is grateful for his friends and staff at the Emeritus residence Manahawkin NJ.

Family and close friends will gather to celebrate his life on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 from 1:30pm to 4:30pm at the Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ, 08050.  Angelo will forever rest beside his loving wife Thursday, July 23, 2015 at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown NJ. Please call funeral home for cemetery time.
