Anna Martin

Anna R. Martin (nee McCallion), age 89, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Friday, July 22, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving husband and her children.

Born on October 30, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, she lived in Philadelphia prior to Manahawkin where she resided full-time since 1991. Anna was a graduate of the West Catholic Girls High School, class of 1951, Philadelphia. Prior to her retirement, she worked as an NTA for the Philadelphia Public School District. She enjoyed gardening, but her passion was caring for her family. She was a kind and generous woman who always had a smile that enriched the life's of those she touched. Anna will be truly missed by all.

She is predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Anna (McCann) McCallion, her two brothers; Lawrence and Patrick McCallion, and her three sisters; Frances Rothstein, Elizabeth Ryan, and Joan McCallion.

Anna is survived by her husband of 66 years, George L. Martin, her two sons; George Martin Jr. and Joseph Martin and his wife Cheryl, her four daughters; Kathleen Murphy and her husband Richard, Barbara Marunyak and her husband Michael, Clare Salamon and her husband Kevin, and Rosemary Gurka and her husband Brian, her sister, Kathleen Koelle, and her brother, James McCallion and his wife Marion. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Kimberly, Barbara Ann, Nicole, Bridget, Sarah, Patrick, Abigail & Erin, her five great grandchildren; Addison, Emmett, Nathan, Eleena & Owen and her many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10am to 11am at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately following at 11am. Cremation will be private.
