GIACCIO, Carol (nee RUBY), 57, of Mayetta, NJ passed away peacefully August 2, 2018 at Community Medical Center with the love of her life, her loving husband of 38 years, William by her side.
Carol was a sassy teenager, a loving wife, a protective mother, hardworking co-provider, honest companion, excellent friend, gentle caregiver and an adoring grandmother.
Carol was born September 6, 1960 in Staten Island, NY. She grew up in Staten Island before moving south and making Mayetta her home. There she helped her husband build their home both physically and mentally always making sure that home was filled with love.
Carol was dedicated to her skills as an LPN. She worked diligently in several positions at Arcadia Nursing and Rehab Center, Sea Crest Village and Community Medical Center. She always gave more of herself than she took in return.
A Catholic by heart, Carol helped provide for her family, her son and her step children unconditionally. She would never turn her back on anyone in need. She was a devoted and loving mother who was proud of her family and excited to be grandma or “nanny” to her 7 grandchildren. She loved anytime she got to spend with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Ruby of Staten Island and Vivian Ruby (nee Slaven) of Staten Island.
Carol is survived by her loving husband, William R Giaccio; her son, Richard Giaccio, her step-sons, Luke Giaccio and Todd Giaccio; her step-daughter, Evajean Asroff. She is also survived by her Sister, Clara Crotty; brother-in-law, Jon Lyons; three daughters-in-law, one son-in-law, many nieces and nephews and seven grandchildren that held a huge piece of her heart.
Family and friends will gather from 5:00pm to 8:00 pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd., Manahawkin, NJ on Monday, August 6, 2018, for visitation and a 7:45pm service.
The Giaccio family would like to offer their sincere gratitude to family and friends who have assisted them through this difficult time.
Cremation will be private.
