Carolyn Butkus

Ms. Carolyn Patricia "Peg" Butkus, 91,  of Manahawkin, NJ, died peacefully on February 17, 2017 at Southern Ocean Medical Center.

Carolyn was born on March 16th 1925 in Belleville NJ.  Carolyn enjoyed many activities including crocheting, playing the lottery and her biggest love along with Pete was going

to the casino.  Most of all she loved raising her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carolyn was a very caring and giving person with a witty sense of humor she will be greatly

missed by family and friends.

She is predeceased by her husband Joseph F. Butkus, her grandson Jason M. Butkus and her son-in-law Larry Sweeney.

Carolyn is survived by her "Beloved" Pete Marino and her sister Maureen Delia Dries.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children; Cathleen Sweeney, Margaret Sawyer & husband Tom, Joseph Butkus & wife Kelly, Stephen Butkus & wife Angela, Michael Butkus & wife Sue Shanker, her grandchildren; Stephen Butkus & wife Hege, Heather Sweeney & partner Robert, Angela Dedominicis & husband Dave, Morgan J. Sweeny & partner Ronni, Tonya Butkus, Vanessa Butkus, Jessica Genander & husband Paul, April Rae, Ashley Sawyer & partner Justin, Joey Butkus III, her great grandchildren; Aspen, Sage, Olivia, Dustin, Shannon, Ricky, Riley, Raelynn, Liam, Kyla, Jacob, Conner, Faith, Brianna, Amber, Michael, Bella and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, February 24, 2017, 1:00 PM at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ, 08050. A Celebration of Life will follow Mass at the family residence.
