Clarence A. Jones, age 81, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023.
Born February 12, 1942 in Fort Worth, TX, he lived in Brick, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided for the last 46 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam war. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by United States Navy, Lakehurst, NJ as a Communications/Radio Operator. in addition to his 30 years of military service, he was a teacher with Toms River School District for 25 years. Clarence was a member of the Blinded Veterans Association, USS Yorktown Association, National Parks and Recreational Association, American Legion, Ocean County Alumni, and the Trenton State Alumni. He enjoyed woodworking in his younger years, coin collecting, and fishing. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife Judith all around the world. Later in life, he enjoyed taking care of his koi pond and his many varieties of plants. He was also interested in researching latest technology.
He is predeceased by his three brothers, and four sisters.
Clarence is survived by his wife Judith F. (nee Lamb) Jones, his daughter Julie Harris and her husband Frank, his son John Paul Jones and his wife Rebecca, his sister Nell Cole, his four grandchildren; Julianna, Frankie, Emily & Jillian, and his many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 1 PM TO 4 PM at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Monday, August 21 at the funeral home. Interment will follow, 1PM at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
