Claudia (Favata) Den Uyl, Beach Haven, age 69, died peacefully at home on June 5, 2024 after a courageous battle with uveal melanoma.
Born in Passaic to James and Frances (Conserva) Favata, she grew up in Clifton and graduated from Paul VI High School and Bergen Community College. Her passion was caring for children leading to a lifelong career as a pediatric nurse starting at Notchview Pediatrics in Clifton. Moving to Long Beach Island in 1984, she continued with Richard Goldstein M.D. and later Pediatric Affiliates in Manahawkin.
Claudia was devoted to her family and is survived by her husband, James, and sons Eric, Peter and James; sisters Kathy (Favata) Dzwilewski and husband Allan; Elissa Favata and husband Gary Siemons; brother and sister-in-law Anthony and Margaret Den Uyl, and many loving nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Condolences can be offered at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, Long Beach Township, on Thursday June 13, 2024 at 10am. A memorial service will follow at 10:45. Interment will be private.
