David P. Wood Sr.

David P. Wood, Sr., age 74, of Manahawkin passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Temple University Hospital-Jeanes Campus of Philadelphia, PA. 

Born August 24, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA., he lived in Philadelphia, PA prior to Manahawkin where he resided full-time since 2003. David was a graduate of North Catholic High School and Temple University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree. Prior to his retirement, David was employed by LGB Mechanical, West Berlin, NJ as a Plumber and was a member of the Plumbers Union Local 690.

He is predeceased by his parents, John and Virginia Wood, and his wife of 35 years, Madeline Wood in 2012.

David is survived by his son David P. Wood Jr. and his wife Nicole, his daughter, Tracy McCarty and her husband Jamey, his brother John Wood and his wife Betsy, his grandchildren; Molly and Sadie McCarty and Ayla and Leo Wood, and his stepbrothers and stepsisters; Florence Byrne, Kathy Lauletta, Mary Salamone, Donna Boyle Huff and Edwin Boyle.

Visiting hours will take place on Friday, January 3, 2025, from 6pm to 8pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am on Saturday, January 4 at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
