Dolores Pompei

Dolores A. Pompei, 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 15, 2016, surrounded by her loving family.  Born in Newark to James and Estelle Volpone, Dolores and her husband, Mario, raised their family in East Hanover prior to retiring to Manahawkin 24 years ago.  She was fun loving and always had a smile on her face.  Whether it was participating in her bowling or golf league, a trip to Atlantic City, or line dancing at the clubhouse, she was always on the go.

She is predeceased by her brothers, James, Daniel and John Volpone and sisters, Alice Brahs and Joan Sikora.

Dolores is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mario, her children; Mark of Ledgewood, Glenn and his wife Lori of East Hanover, Lori Hopkins of Ledgewood and her grandchildren she cherished, Marc and Nicole Pompei.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Millcreek Rd, Manahawkin.  Her life will be celebrated in a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10 am, St Mary of the Pines RC Church, Manahawkin, with interment to immediately follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
