Dolores Weisdock

Dolores P. Weisdock, age 84, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018 at Mystic Meadows Rehab & Nursing Center in Little Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

Dolores, lovingly known as “Dodo”, “Dodi” and later “Mimi” was born on September 13, 1934 in Punxsutawney, PA. Born to Martha J. Sawyer and John F. Philliber, Dodi was the heiress to the Punxsutawney Beef and Provisions fortune and the youngest of two children. Taking up sewing as an adolescent, Dodi was sewing full tailored outfits for herself and her family by her high school graduation, a creative pursuit she only expanded to other fabric arts as she got older. Dodi went on to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and married her high school sweetheart, Ronald E. Weisdock at the age of 22 years old. Dodi and Ron raised their two children, Jon Fredric and Lisa Ann in Willingboro NJ, before permanently settling in Manahawkin, NJ.

Dodi spent much of her life caring and looking after her loved ones, biking, running and reading, and making everyone laugh. She had a penchant for brilliant costume jewelry and decaf coffee in the afternoon. You could always count on Dodi for a lunch date, shopping trip, or to adopt another wayward kitten.

She is survived by her son, Jon F., her grandchildren, Jon Alexander and Casey Alane, her great-grandchildren Jon Frederick and Evelyn Alane, and beloved cousin Sally Sciulli and her family. Dodi will be missed dearly but is with her loved ones on the other side.

The Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, Manahawkin NJ, has been entrusted with arrangements which will be visitation on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm. Burial services will take place on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 1pm to 3pm at Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney Pa.
