Ed is predeceased by his parents Patrick E. and Hannah McGinnis and his three sisters; Mary Davis, Charlotte Warner and Marguerite Long.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Lorraine McGinnis (nee Murray) who was his partner through life, his two sons; Edward McGinnis and his wife Cheryl,  and John McGinnis, his two daughters; Mary Beth McGill and her husband Dan, and Eileen Laracy-McGinnis and her husband Michael, and his six grandchildren; Dan, Molly, Brock, Connor, Sean and Charlotte. All his grandchildren loved to go crabbing with their Grandfather on the docks of Long Beach Island.
