Ed is survived by his three children, Edwin G. Hackney, III (Carol), Mae Merwin (Sean) & Bonnie Hackney (Cori) and his granddaughter Kyrstin Geloso, as well as his niece Arlene and nephew Bobby. Ed was predeceased by his younger sister Arlene Coates.

Ed was a Battalion Chief of the Union Fire Department until his retirement continuing to work as an electrician for his own business for over half of a century! He was a good husband, father, grandpop, friend and neighbor. A life well lived! Thank you, Dad, you will be missed! Atta-Boy.
