Erik Zakrzewski

With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Zakrzewski, Rogers, Harmon and Macarone family announce the passing of our Son, Father, Husband, Brother, Uncle, Friend Erik Zakrzewski

“Zak” as he was called, passed away on April 6th, 2023. He was born on February 10, 1972, in Flemington NJ. He grew up in Surf City, NJ and attended Southern Regional High School. Erik was the owner of E. Zak Fine Carpentry.  He had incredible artistic talent. Erik was proud of what he would build and homes that he would renovate and would often send pictures to his family. He has volunteered his time and talent to many throughout his years being in business.  Erik loved the beach, crabbing, fishing, surfing, boating and cooking. He loved to entertain his family and always hosted summer barbecues. He was strong willed and stubborn, but those traits defined him. They were a part of who he was, and his strength undoubtedly helped him deal with life’s challenges.

When Zak wasn’t working, he was a familiar figure in the South Jersey area, easily identified by his hats, impeccable style, sense of humor, bright blue eyes and his smile. To know Zak, was to experience him. His story and joke telling, his charm and generosity will be sorely missed. You could hear his voice a mile away.

His Celebration of Life services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2023, from 12pm to 3pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to a favorite charity of choice.
