Francis "Frank" Pross Jr.

Francis "Frank" E. Pross Jr, age 71, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2019 surrounded by loving family and friends.

Born in Newark, NJ, he lived in Bloomfield prior to Manahawkin. Frank retired from the Bloomfield Fire Department where he obtained the ranks of Firefighter, Captain, Chief Fire Official, Arson Investigator and Fire Director. After his retirement he worked as a Construction Official for the State of New Jersey.  He was a proud recipient of a Bilateral Lung Transplant from The Gift Of Life. He became a Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Ambassador. Both Frank and Debbie have generously been giving their time to speak on behalf of the patient and caregivers at support groups and events sponsored by the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.  Frank enjoyed his dogs, was a wine enthusiast and cooking for family and friends.

Frank is survived by his wife and best friend for 46 years, Debra Pross (nee Nyman), his son, Patric Pross, his two daughters; Jennifer Treece and her husband Daniel Treece, and Jaclyn Kaminski and her husband Andrew Kaminski, his five grandchildren; Sara, Brenna & Aubree Treece, Carly & Drew Kaminski, his sister, Elaine Baris, his niece, Dana Zamarelli, his sister-in-law, Susan Coffey, his brother-in-law, William Coffey, and his nephews; Keith and Connor Coffey. He is also survived by his many “Furkids”.

Visiting hours will take place on Tuesday, October 15, 2019, from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm and Wednesday, October 16, from 9am until his funeral service,11am from Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be private.
