George Joseph Stahl, 98, of Barnegat, formerly of Irvington, NJ passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017.
George was born in Irvington, NJ to George and Catherine Stahl. He went to Irvington High School and later owned and operated Stahl’s Market in Irvington for many years. George was a member of the National Turners Association in Irvington and volunteered at Southern Ocean Memorial most recently in the emergency room where he made patience’s more comfortable and shared his fun loving wit.
George served his country in the US Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945. He was very patriotic and proud to serve his country.
George was pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Jean Carroll Stahl and his brother Raymond, who lost his life serving his country World War II. He is survived by his step-sons, Walter and Steve Carroll and their families and many loving nieces, nephews and four great-great nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 from 10 to 11:30AM followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30AM in Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
