Irene E. Wheeler

Irene E. Wheeler (nee Stopa), age 93, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

Born May 21, 1930 in Simpson, PA, she lived in Neptune City, NJ prior to Manahawkin where she resided for the last 25 years. Prior to her retirement, Irene was employed by General Electric, Eatontown, NJ as a Dispatcher. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Irene is predeceased by her parents, Joseph P. and Stasia K. (Markiewicz) Stopa, and her husband, Kenneth Albert Wheeler in 1974. 

She is survived by her two daughters: Kathleen S. Borgwardt, Pamela J. Osborne and her husband Gregory, her four sons: Gregory J. Borgwardt and his wife Judith, Douglas A. Wheeler and his wife Pamela, Stephan H. Wheeler and his wife Maryann, and Glenn I. Wheeler, her brother, Thomas Stopa and his wife Rosalie, and her five granddaughters, seven grandsons, three great granddaughters and one great grandson.  

A graveside service will be held 1:30 pm on Friday, October 6, 2023 at Hamilton Cemetery, Old Corlies Avenue, Neptune, NJ.
