James A. Hemm, age 77, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 14, 2024.
Born on August 16, 1946 in New York, NY, James lived in New Brunswick, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided for the last 25 years. He earned his master’s degree from Rutgers University. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by New Jersey Association On Correction, Trenton, NJ as their Chief Executive Officer. James was a board member of the Delaware Valley Volunteers of America, and a board member of the Hyacinth Foundation. He also was a member of many professional associations. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed collecting wine.
James is predeceased by his parents, Anton and Jean Patton Hemm.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila E. Whitney Hemm, his sister, Cathleen Hemm and his three nephews, Robert, Christopher and Patrick McGrath. He is also survived by many great nephews.
