James P. Kelley, Sr., age 87, of Barnegat, NJ passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022.
Born July 20, 1934 in Rockledge, PA, he lived in the Philadelphia area prior to moving to the Manahawkin and Barnegat area in 1972. A graduate of LaSalle College, he worked for Max & Lou Weinstein Plumbing Supply, Philadelphia, Benjamin McClellan Plumbing Supply, Manahawkin, and Western Auto Appliances, Manahawkin. He proudly served his country in the US Army Signal corps in Germany from 1957 to 1959. It is there where he met his wife, Anneliese at a dance hall in Boblingen, Germany in 1958. They married on October 4, 1958 in Boblingen. Jim was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in PA, and was a lifetime fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Flyers.
He is predeceased by his parents, George Francis Kelley Sr. and Gertrude Kelley (nee Walsh), and his brother, George Francis Kelley Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Anneliese M. Kelley (nee Fahsl), his children, Anne Marie Essinger, Cathy Carey and her husband Mike, James P. Kelley Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Cindy Raylman and her husband Doug, his 11 grandchildren; Steven, Joey, Kelley Anne, Caitlin, Michael, Monika, Nick, Danny, Alex, Kristina, and Emily, and his 5 Great Grandchildren; Travis, Mattix, Hailey, Lexi and Colin.
Visiting will take place on Thursday, January 13, 2022, 10am to until his Mass of Christian burial, 11am at St. Mary of The Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Beachview Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ.
