John A. Kempf, age 89, of Manahawkin, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025 

Born September 28, 1935 in Forest Hills, NY, he lived in Manchester, CT prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 2001. John proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1964. He was employed by Creative Graphics, Newington, CT as a scanner operator. John was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church, and a member of the Elks, Lodge 2340, both of Manahawkin, NJ.

John is predeceased by his parents, John Francis and Mary Sofia (Wenskus) Kempf, his wife Evelyn A. (Comfort) Kempf in 2007, his son Michael Kempf in 2002, and his brother-in-law Herm Heter.

He is survived by his daughter Suzanne Russo & her husband John, his two sons, Ronald Kempf & his wife Alice and John Kempf Jr. & his wife Melony, his two sisters, Kathy Heter and Mary Sullivan, his grandchildren, Jessica and her husband Marcos, and Mallory, as well as his many loving nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Monday, February 3 from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will follow 12:30pm, at St. Mary Of The Pines Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ with interment immediately after at St. Mary's Cemetery, 283 Beachview Avenue, Manahawkin.
