John Braxton Rector, 94, of Manahawkin, NJ, passed away on January 7, 2017. Born in Perry, OH., he lived in Elmwood Park, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 1998.

Mr. Rector worked as an Aerospace Electronics Inspector for Kearfott-Singer, Little Falls, NJ prior to his retirement. He also proudly served his country as a member of the Army-Air Corps during World War II.

He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy Mitchell Rector in 1998, his brother Robert Rector, his two sisters; Frances McMahan and Evelyn Osborn and his granddaughter Noelle Christine.

He is survived by his daughter Patricia Toci (Dennis), his brother Paul Rector of Ohio, his grandchildren; Lisa Marie Toci (Matthew), Michael John Toci (Tricia), Brian Joseph Toci (Nicole) and his great grandchildren; Michael Francis Campanelli, Nicholas Steven Campanelli, Bailey Kate Toci, Cole Thomas Toci and Cooper Reid Toci, his faithful beagle Abigail, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews throughout New Jersey and Ohio.

Visiting hours will be Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 9am to 11am at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Time of Remembrance will follow at the funeral home prior to interment which will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Manahawkin, NJ.
