Joseph Dilginis

Joseph W. Dilginis, age 61, of Manahawkin, formerly of Flemington, NJ, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018, at home.

Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, he grew up in Union, New Jersey and moved to Flemington, New Jersey to raise his family. After retirement, Joe and his wife Karen recently moved to Beach Haven West, New Jersey.

He spent his career with the Union Police Department, retiring as the Detective Lieutenant. He was a dedicated Police Officer but above all else he was a loving husband and father. Everyone knew him as a family man who truly was a good person, selfless, and caring with a great sense of humor.

He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Catherine Dilginis (nee Whitecavage).

Joe is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Karen Dilginis (nee Roessle), his oldest daughter Shannon and son-in-law Brian Novinski of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, and his youngest daughter Lindsay Dilginis of Bristol, Pennsylvania. He also leaves behind his adored dog Bailey. Joe is also survived by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Robert and Gayle Wilt of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Ken and Janet Steimel of Toms River, New Jersey, and his in-laws Rudy Roessle and Audrey Roessle of Lakewood, New Jersey, along with beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 from 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm with a Celebration of Life, 8:45pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ  08050.  Cremation will be private.
