Joseph R. Mancine, age 78, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, he lived in Linden, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided for the last 7 years. Joe worked on the assembly line at General Motors, Linden, for 29 years. After his retirement from General Motors, he worked as a truck driver for Watson Metal, Kenilworth, NJ. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was an avid classic car collector. Joe was a hard worker and had a deep love for his family. He will surely be missed by all.
He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rosalie Mancine (nee Scalingi), and his two brothers, Patsy and Anthony Mancine.
Joe is survived by his wife, Cecelia (nee Nigito) his son, Steven Mancine and his wife Jane, his daughter, Maria McCarthy and her husband Brian, and his four grandchildren; Angelina, Gavin, Lauren, and James. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be Sunday, October 4, 2020, from 1pm to 5pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 5, 10am, at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop way, Manahawkin. Interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia, will be private.
Due to Covid 19 guidelines, the funeral home is operating at restricted capacity. Please note that face masks and social distancing are required at all times for all in attendance.
