Kathleen Christian

Kathleen Marie Christian (nee Helmstetter), age 73 of Surf City, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 5, 2018, with her family by her side.

Born in Newark, NJ, she was raised in Westfield, NJ where she attended Holy Trinity High School. She lived in Rochester, NY area for 16 years prior to the Long Beach Island area where she resided since 1999. Prior to her retirement, she was a Sales Representative for Johnson & Johnson, Rochester, NY. She was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, NJ. Above all, she was dedicated to her family which she so cherished.

Kathleen is predeceased by her parents, Joseph Daniel Helmstetter and Estelle Victoria Truseak Helmstetter.

She is survived by her loving husband, Martin E. Christian., her two sons;  Peter Christian and his wife Anna, Martin Christian, her two daughters; Jennifer Haugh and her husband Michael, Melissa Chichester and her husband Christofer, her seven grandchildren; Madison, Cassidy, Emma, Sam, Carly, Thomas & Delia, her two brothers; James and Michael Helmstetter, her two sisters; Nancy Zink and Barbara O’Donnell, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018, from 1 pm to 5 pm with a blessing at 4:30 pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Millcreek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Cremation will be private.
