Kenneth George Petersen away on November 2, 2024 in Manahawkin, New Jersey, at the age of 65.
Born in Brooklyn, New York Ken lived a life marked by his gregarious spirit, unwavering work ethic, and commitment to family, friends, and his community.
Ken was the beloved son of Florence and Leslie Petersen, both of whom predeceased him. He grew up alongside his sister, Caron, and brother, Greg, with whom he shared a strong bond. Ken is survived by his daughters, Bridget Dawn Bhavnani and Ashley Lynn Petersen, who remember him as a caring father. Ken was also blessed with four granddaughters—Kali Rose Fino, Julia Rose Fino, Maggie Rose Fino, and Amira Rose Bhavnani—who brought immense joy and pride into his life. He was preceded in death by his daughter Kimberly Ann Petersen.
Known for his vibrant personality, Ken had a gift for making others laugh and always knew how to be the life of the party. He loved feeding others, even if he preferred not to wash the dishes afterward. A lifelong hockey player and loyal fan of the Nashville Predators, he played the sport as long as he could, staying active in a community he loved.
Ken’s legacy lives on in the warmth of his laugh, his quick wit, and the lasting friendships he built over the years. His family and friends will miss him dearly but find comfort in the joyful memories he leaves behind.
