Laura Lee Kankowski

Laura Lee Kankowski (nee Lane), age 62, of Barnegat, NJ passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. 

Born April 24, 1962, in Neptune, NJ, Laura lived in Freehold and Manasquan, NJ prior to Barnegat where she resided for the last 40 years. She was employed by Bank of America where she worked in various locations as a Personal Banker. Laura was an active parishioner and volunteer at St. Mary's Church. She was loved by so many friends and family. She would talk your ear off and always loved to laugh. She simply loved people and anyone who knew her loved her the moment they met her. She was a loving mother and grandmother who would do anything for the people she loved. 

She is predeceased by her parents, James W. and Irene Lane (nee Koc).

Laura is survived by her daughter, Andrea Kankowski and her husband Chris Groschel, her son Thomas Kankowski, her three sisters; Margo English, Sharon Lane and Irene DeCelie, her three brothers; David Lane, Jim Lane and Bob Lane, her three grandchildren; Christopher, Elena and Adrianna Groschel, as well as the many extended family and friends she leaves behind.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10am on Monday, February 10 at St. Mary's Church, 747 W. Bay Ave., Barnegat, NJ 08005. Interment will follow at St. Rose Of Lima Cemetery, 299 Freehold-Englishtown Road, Freehold, NJ 07728.
