Lauren Raney

Lauren M. Raney (nee Burns), 39 of Manahawkin, NJ, beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher and friend, passed away quietly on Friday, December 16, 2016 after a long struggle with cancer. Born to Tom and Peg Burns of Lacey, NJ July 28, 1977, in Lakewood, NJ, she resided in Toms River prior to moving to Manahawkin in 2004. She attended Lacey High School, Rowan University and Stockton College, where she earned her teaching degree. Lauren became an English teacher at Southern Regional High School in 2010 where she quickly took her place as an extraordinary educator and inspirational mentor. She was also a Director of Patient Advocacy for David’s Dream and Believe Cancer Foundation.

Lauren is predeceased by her sister Susan.

She is survived by her soulmate of 15 years, William Raney III, her children, Emily, Will and Samantha Raney, her parents Tom and Peg Burns, her father-in-law and mother-in-law William Jr and Kathy Raney, her sister-in-law & brother-in-law Diane and Brent Kimball and her step sister-in-law Alyssa Iadanza.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday, December 20 and Wednesday, December 21 from 5pm to 9pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. A funeral service will be held during visiting, Wednesday evening, 8:30pm.
