Richard G. Forssell, 76, of Manahawkin, passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016. Born in Riverside, NJ, he lived in Riverside, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 1994. He most recently worked as a Maintenance Engineer for Pinelands Regional High School, Tuckerton. Prior to that, he served as a police officer for the Delaware River Port Authority as well as police lieutenant for the Burlington County Bridge Commission. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Conflict. He also was a member of the Riverside Volunteer Fire Company.
Richard is predeceased by one sister and is survived by his three sons; Michael Dae and wife Rene, Mark Dae and wife Karen, and Charlie Dae and wife Donna, his daughter Kathy Dae Provenzano and fiancée Frank Doelling, his brother Charles Forssell, his ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, many cousins, nephews and childhood friends, as well as his long time companion Virginia Norman and his dog Scruffy.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2016 from 11am to 1pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the Stafford Township First Aid Squad, 365 E. Bay Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
