Richard K. Neeld

Richard K. Neeld, age 92 of Manahawkin went home to be with the Lord on October 18, 2024.

Born in Trenton, NJ, he lived in Plainfield, NJ prior to Manahawkin where he resided since 1992. Along with being a devoted husband to his wife Janet of 64 years and loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was a member of the United Methodist Churches of Manahawkin and Plainfield. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College and a Master of Business Administration from Rutgers University. He worked as a Chemical Engineer at Exxon Corporation for 34 years prior to his retirement in 1986.

Richard found great pleasure in do-it-yourself projects and passed that joy along to his family, often to their chagrin. He gave of himself often by volunteering for various church projects and aiding friends and neighbors that needed a helping hand. His generosity knew few bounds. One of his true passions was duck hunting and spending time on the marsh with friends and family.

Richard is survived by his two sons, Kenneth Neeld and James Neeld & his wife Gail, his six grandchildren, James Neeld, Kevin Neeld & his wife Emily, Isaac and Erin Vermilye, and Kyle and Jordan St. Pierre, as well as his great grandchildren, Cameron and Elise Neeld. He is also survived by his sister Virginia Carl, niece, Allison Podell and nephew Richard Scozzari and his former daughters-in-law, Linda Traver and Maureen Lucy. He will be missed by all.

A memorial service at Manahawkin United Methodist Church, will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in his memory to the Manahawkin United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 116 Stafford Ave., Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
