Rita E. Dube of Manahawkin, NJ passed with grace and beauty into eternal life on August 15th, 2020.
She was born and raised in the Ridgewood Section of Queens, NY to the late August and Josephine Schreiber. She was graduated from St. Ann of Ridgewood, NY. She and her late husband Donald raised their family in Congers, NY for 36 years before moving to Manahawkin. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Francis of Assisi parish, and Atlantic Hills Homeowners Association where she was active in the community. Rita and Donald were married for 65 years and enjoy sailing and being a part of Brant Beach Yacht Club. She was talented at crafts and part of woman’s group while raising their four children. She will be most remembered for being a kind, patient and compassionate woman. She put everyone first and cared deeply about them and prayed for everyone’s concerns. She was nicknamed St. Rita.
She is survived by her four children; Donald T. Dube of Avon-by-the-Sea, three daughters; Denise Marie Dube of Southampton, NY; Cheryl Thoma and her husband Richard of Whippany, NJ; Joanne DelPizzo and her husband Paul Zimmerman of Stoughton, WI. They had eight loving grand-children; Kristin Dube Baker, and Collin Dube, Nicole and Rachel DelPizzo Gabriela, Joseph and Nicholas Thoma and Gavin O’Hanlon; 3 great grandchildren, Sirena, Callista & Vaughn Baker.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday, August 26, 2020, from 5pm to 8pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 26,11am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Brant Beach, NJ. Interment will follow at Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
Due to COVID-19, the funeral home is operating at 25% occupancy capacity as per NJ executive order. Staff will assist with the number of visitors allowed in the building at a time. Please note that social distancing and facemasks are required at all times for attendance.
