Ruth Aker

Ruth S. Aker, 97, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, February 6, 2016. Ruth was born in Cedar Run, NJ and was a lifelong resident of Manahawkin, NJ. She worked as a secretary with her husband Elmer for their family owned business, HCH Realtors, Harvey Cedars. She was a member of the Stafford Chapter of Deborah Hospital, S.O.M.C. Auxiliary, the Stafford Historical Society, the S.O.M.C. volunteer group, and a Red Cross volunteer. She was also a member of the Manahawkin Baptist Church.

Ruth is predeceased by her husband Elmer J. Aker.

She is survived by her daughter Claire Holloway and her husband James, her son Steven Aker and his wife Deborah, her four grandchildren who have given her much happiness: Dawn, Jennifer, Samantha and Christopher and her six great grandchildren who brought so much joy: Emily, Amanda, Billy, Logan, Nolan and Ethan, as well as her life-long friend Althea Fredrickson.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 14, 2016, 2pm at Manahawkin Baptist Church, 400 Beach Ave, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Ruth’s memory to Manahawkin Baptist Church.
