Sam Pappas

Sam Spiros Pappas, 67, passed away on Saturday September 3, 2016 peacefully in his home. Born in Paterson New Jersey, he later moved to Manahawkin with his Wife and Children, where he resided for the last 25 years.  Sam served in the United States Air Force and is a Vietnam War Veteran. He later worked for Southern Regional High School as a custodian and was very active with the high school sports programs.

Sam is predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Ann Pappas. He is survived by his loving wife, Georgeann "Gigi" Pappas, Daughter Christy Mangone and her husband Jeff, Son, Robert Smith and his wife, Brittney, His 4 grandchildren, Alexis & Christina Mangone and Nathan and Aubree Smith, who were the light of his life and his love for his grandchildren would shine through any of his dark moments. He is also survived by his brother, James Pappas and brothers-in-law, Joseph and Donna Kahwaty and George and Christine Kahwaty and their families,along with a multitude of nieces and nephews which he loved and of whom he was so proud. And never to be forgotten are his beloved dogs Sparky and Heidi.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, September 8, 2016 from 6pm until his funeral service at 8:30 pm from Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. Interment will be private.
