Stephanie Scarano (nee Grant), 89 of Manahawkin, NJ passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020.
She was born and lived in Newark, NJ and Roselle Park, NJ before moving to Manahawkin in 1990. Prior to her retirement, Stephanie worked as a Cafeteria worker and bus assistant for Stafford Township Board of Education, Manahawkin. While residing in Roselle Park, she was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, as well as a member of the school P.T.A. She very much enjoyed visiting Atlantic City and sipping her Manhattan’s. She also loved to travel abroad with her sister Florence. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who was always there for her family and friends. She had a sweet and kind personality and loved working with children. She was adored and loved by us all and will be sorely missed.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Vincent Scarano in 2015, her parents, Nicholas and Helen (nee Ostero) Grant, her two brothers, Nicholas Grant Jr. and William Grant, and her sister Florence Gebbie.
Stephanie is survived by her son, Mark Scarano and wife Lisa of Westfield, her daughters, Laura Ellis of Long Beach Township and Valerie DeVito and husband Vince of Westfield, and her grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Garrett, Dean, Elena and Leigh.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2020 from 1pm until her funeral service, 3:00pm at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Rd Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
Due to Covid-19 guidelines, the funeral home is operating at restricted capacity. Please note that face masks and social distancing are required at all times for all in attendance of all services.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Hospital at www.stjude.org , and/or the St. Francis Food Pantry, Women's Shelter or Children's Services, all at St. Francis Community Center, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Twp., NJ 08008.
