Theodore R. Vanselous, age 81, of Long Beach Twp., NJ passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025 with his family at his side.
Born May 1, 1943 in Newark, NJ, he lived his entire like in Stockton, NJ (Hunterdon) prior to Long Beach Township, which he called his happy place, where he resided full-time for the last 10 years. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam war era. He owned and operated the Stockton Auto Body Repair Shop for many years. He then changed careers and prior to his retirement, he was employed by Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission, PA. as a Corporal. He was a past Chief of the Stockton Fire Department and a past Master Mason of the Orpheus Lodge #137 F&AM. He was a talented woodworker and would enjoy completing projects for his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, particularly fishing and boating on LBI. Above all he was a family man and adored his four granddaughters.
Theodore is predeceased by his parents, Eli and Edina Pheasey Vanselous, his wife, Elaine Murchison Vanselous in 2016, his brother, Thomas Vanselous, and his sister-in-law, Sandy Vanselous.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa Kozuhowski & her husband Kenneth and Sarah Vanselous, his son, Timothy Vanselous & his wife Rebecca, his sister, Katherine Lawton & her husband George, and her grandchildren; Morgan & Paige Vanselous, and Hannah & Natalie Kozuhowski.
A memorial gathering with a time of remembrance will be held from 11am to 1pm on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Maxwell-Tobie Funeral Home, 573 Mill Creek Road, Manahawkin, NJ 08050.
In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in his memory to the Beach Haven First Aid Squad.
